Jo Ellis
PilatesJo has been teaching Pilates since 2013. Her classes are fairly strong and flowing, but each exercise is taught progressively so that everyone can work at their own pace and feel individually challenged. She puts emphasis on the importance of neutral spine and core engagement throughout each class.
Alongside teaching Pilates, Jo is a Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist, Personal Trainer and Spinning Instructor. Jo has also been an official Sweaty Betty Ambassador since 2015. She lives and breathes her favourite brand and is always happy to offer her advice!
jo’s bio:
After studying Physiology and Pharmacology at uni, Jo left her scientific background behind and embarked on a lengthy career in the city. Most of this time was spent commuting and sitting at a desk, both of which took its toll. It was around this time that she decided to take control of her fitness and took up running (dodgy knees no longer allow much of this unfortunately), Pilates, spinning and body weight resistance work.
Eventually, after years of juggling corporate and family life, Jo packed it in and retrained doing what she had become passionate about. It started with a qualification in triathlete swim coaching, and soon lead to Pilates (including springboard Pilates), Personal Training and Spinning, and most recently Sports Massage Therapy.
Jo taught regular classes at Ebb & Flow when it first opened back in 2017. She now covers classes when possible, and is always excited about being back in the beautiful starlit studio with both familiar and new faces.
Jo has two fairly grown up children and lives locally in Lower Bourne.
